Our Founder and Managing Director, Wayne Scrooby, emigrated to the Gold Coast from South Africa after being involved in many turnkey projects using the finest Italian furnishings. He soon realised after visiting showrooms in Australia that there was a significant lack of high- end furniture and furnishings. Most stores were importing from Asia and unfortunately the quality of production of the furniture items was questionable – especially for the luxury quality homes based on the Gold Coast.
Due to this gap in the luxury market, Mr Scrooby travelled to Europe and the USA and identified a wide range of luxurious collections of superior quality manufacture and superb design. The decision to commence with the importation of these collections from Italy, Spain and the USA was without question. The response from manufacturers was equally positive and encouraging and a strong business relationship was forged with a number of these manufacturers. Now – 16 years later – these relationships have developed from strength to strength and the stunning furniture designs from Europe and the USA grace many beautiful homes in Australia – not only the Gold Coast. In fact the design and installation process has extended beyond Australian shores to all corners of the Globe, such as Shanghai, Vanuatu, Fiji, Cambodia, New Zealand, London, Los Angeles to name just a few.
Sovereign Interiors has proudly grown from a modest showroom of 174 square metres on the Gold Coast back in 2001 to showcasing over 1500sqm of the finest and most luxurious collections in 2 locations – the Gold Coast and Sydney – with plans for further expansion to Melbourne and other cities in the pipeline.
The regular repeat business over the years from loyal clients has led to this expansion together with the word of mouth referrals from our highly valued VIP clients. This is testimony to the beauty of the designs, the superior quality and of course highly personalised service offered by all members of staff at all stages of the design and implementation process.
